Bay Area MeetUp in Livermore Ca at Concannon Winery

The long awaited for MeetUp took place on April 17th at the Concannon Winery in Livermore. A special thanks to Concannon for providing the venue for ActiveRain Members and invited guests to meet up.

It was a beautiful day. I enjoyed seeing so many friends again. It was a delight to meet a few members for the first time.

There were 17 people in attendance at this grand event!

We participated in wine tasting; enjoyed great food; beautiful scenery; entertainment; and we had fun! Antonio & Alexia - Realtors in Motion gave each of us their 2012 calendar!

I held my camera on Brad and Debra Lee while they entertained us with a song. I thought I was creating a video ... but I only took a photo. A real Duah moment for the day!

If I had been filming you would have heard them sing this!

Smudges for Reflection

A smudge for relection. Are you wearing one today?

Alfred had an old car that ran OK on paved roads, but on the bumpy roads near his home it would pop out of gear. To Alfred this was always a surprise. After he heard the bump he would press the gas pedal, but the car would continue to slow down. Only then would he remember to put the car back in gear. But that moment after the bump, when nothing seemed to work, was always the strange one for him.

Reflection strikes many of us the same way. Our lives are full of action, doing things, making things happen. Our goals drive us ahead. We like to count our achievements daily. Regular reflection, which is an essential part of fine tuning our humanity, may give many of us the same kind of feeling Alfred got when his old car popped out of gear.

Perhaps this is why the church developed putting a smudge of ash on our foreheads.

The smudge reminds us of to prepare for a richer participation in the celebration of Spring and Easter.

Accountability ~ Responsibilty ~ Accomplishment ~ Measurability ~ Strength

This year I am committed to meeting with an "Accountability" group every Tuesday morning at 7:30am.

This is not your usually group, but four industry leaders in my community.

Our leader, Katey Shinn, is managing broker at Better Homes & Garden and a professional business coach. The 3 gentleman in the group are successful mortgage and escrow affiliates. I am honored as a professional home stager to be including in this group.

I have never been fond of or successful at New Year Resolutions. I am fond of goals and love a good challenge....this excites me....so, I am being Accountable 2012!!

The five of us have written our goals for 2012: Personal, Health, Family and Business.

Weekly we write our goals for: Personal Health, Family and Business.

I am learning to remove the words "TRY" and "Want" from my vocabulary and replacing them with "WILL".

It is amazingly inspiring to be Accountable to this group.

After loosing my blog voice over a year ago while experiencing personal problems, my business goal this week is to write a blog article. It feels good to be back at it tonight......a little like riding a bike!!

I just had to re-blog this after returning from RESA and still feeling the snergy, smiles and love we shared. My relationship started with many of you on AR-Stage it Forward!

The fastest way you can tell the health of an organization or a person is to observe their energy. We are all wired to pick up on energy and we can observe it on two levels:

1. Intensity (high and low) and 2. Direction (positive and negative).

Constantly throughout the day I do a personal self assessment of my energy on both levels: intensity and direction. As a manager I am also constantly feeling the vibe of "the room" and checking in with my fellow co-workers to make sure that the office has a healthy atmosphere. When the office is feeling off I do whatever I can to turn the feeling around. Often times that means taking the group to lunch or some other fun activity. I know that when people are happy and the energy is good then the success of the entire company will follow.

Last week I asked Will to shoot a video to "capture the energy of ActiveRain." It was a challenging request but I believe he did a great job as you can see in the video below.
